Potty training!

Okay so after cleaning poop from my carpet twice yesterday I realize I need help. A hates to wear diapers anymore but she will not go near her new cute winnie the poo potty that I bought her a couple of weeks ago. I thought she would love it but I was wrong. So she does let me put diapers on her but the minute they get wet or poopy they come off. So I usually find her running around my house naked. If anyone has any suggestions to get her interested in the potty let me know!

Yay for new posts! I love the scrapbooking pages and the quilt. Nice job!
Ask me if I can tell you anything about potty training? Uh...no. Kids with Autism and potty training go together like poop on carpet. Meaning that I have no advice :) There is a lady called the potty whisperer and we tried her approach. I didn't work for my kids, but I hear she has a lot of success. Her website is www.pottywhisperer.com.

Good luck. That was the worst week with both kids. I kept wishing there was somewhere you could take them to that would potty train them and you picked them up the next day. Just remember that it's totally worth it!

Try the Potty Time with Bear Video (I got mine at Maceys). Ashlyn loved it and got her interested in the potty. I also had special potty books (about the potty) in the bathroom that had noise buttons. The kids both loved them. Also my kids did great with treats. With Payden I gave them to him everytime he went and with Ashlyn (since she is more stubborn) I gave them each time she was dry when I put her on the potty (about every 15 minutes the first 2 days). And I never did pullups. I got potty training underware (thicker in the middle) and then they REALLY didn't like it when they were wet, but it wasn't a huge mess to clean up either.

Good Luck!

Kristi, it's so fun to see your blog! Alli is beautiful!! Potty training is the worst part of parenting (this far) All I can say is bribery. But good luck. -Julie.

The quilt is so cute and so are the scrapbook pages. Having two boys and then a girl was fun for me - I finally got to shop for PINK! Anyway, no advice on potty training. Evan was as easy as it gets - I'm lucky if Austin will even sit on the toilet...any toilet. Good luck!

I Agree with gedge mama, bribery works the best. I'm usually not the bribery type, but hey, my kids would do anything for some skittles or some chocolate. J got stickers (she loved them) and L got skittles for peeps and reece's cups for poops!!! Serious motivation. :) He started trying every 2 minutes just to see if he could get a chocolate. :)
